The Report serves as a clearinghouse for information relevant to the status of Christianity and
Western ministry in the former Soviet Union and Central and Eastern Europe.

During a conference on ministry in Russia and East Central Europe, the East-West Church & Ministry Report discovered that a majority of participating ministries, working with similar goals in similar situations, were not familiar with the work of many other organizations. In an age of instant communication should that be the case?

Mark Elliott, professor of history, Southern Wesleyan University, does not think so. In 1993, he began publishing a quarterly newsletter, the East-West Church and Ministry Report, in response to the growing need for networking, cooperation, and the sharing of lessons learned in Christian outreach.

"I receive dozens of mission periodicals from all over the world. I can't think of one that compares for useful, quality material that serves a region of the mission enterprise so well as the East-West Church & Ministry Report."
