The current issue of the EastWest Church Report features interviews with three Protestant women who are active scholars in different parts of Romania, and who draw inspiration from creative arts and innovation in the English-speaking world. Their pursuit of deeper meaning has developed counter to the harsh restrictions on spiritual and intellectual inquiry that were instituted under Communism from 1947 onwards, and their activities now flourish thanks to the new possibilities following the overthrow of Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu in December 1989.
